Cosplay
I started cosplaying in late 2008, when my friend NsomniacArtist suggested that I should go to a con. My first con was SugoiCon 2008, and I am only looking forward to going to more cons! I have two completed cosplays, and several more in the works.
Here are my cosplays, both completed and planned. I will be putting up individual pages for each cosplaywith my own pictures of them soon!
Issun (Okami)
The one-inch wonder boy and wandering artist from one of the best video games ever, Okami! Just don't call me a bug when you see me! This outfit won the award for Best Props at SugoiCon '08! Also, our group won an Honorable Mention in the Musical Performance category at Ohayocon 2009 in a skit where I performed Time's Scarfrom the Chrono Cross soundtrack live on violin while dressed up as Issun, while my friends who were dressed up as Amaterasu and Oki danced.
Shinichi Chiaki (Nodame Cantabile)
Being a musician, I have a special place in my heart for Nodame Cantabile. It is, hands-down, the best anime I have ever seen. This cosplay was not only something I felt like I had to do because of my love for Nodame Cantabile, but also because it was so convenient! Since I play violin, I have plenty of musical scores available. This "cosplay" is more of just a plainclothes getup, with a white dress shirt, black slacks, and black shoes, musical scores and a conductor's baton. A pretty simple cosplay for one of my favourite anime characters from my absolute favourite anime!
Squall SeeD Outfit (FFVIII)
(Planned for Otakon 2009)
I am currently working on a design for Squall's formal SeeD outfit, seen in-game at the ball where he first encounters Rinoa. FFVIII is my favourite Final Fantasy game mostly because Squall is the character with whom I identified the most. I think the 'classic' Squall combat outfit is way overdone, and I much prefer this outfit! I am going to also make a gunblade to accompany this cosplay, because gunblades are awesome.
Lt. Col. Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist)
(Planned for Otakon 2009)
The Flame Alchemist is one of the most badass characters in the entire series (possibly topped only by Lt. Hawkeye), and I have the hair for it. So why the hell not?
Ash Ketchum (Pokémon)
(Planned for Otakon 2009)
Project Cosplay is doing a Pokémon Snap group, and since I have the cameras, I get to play the role of the photographer/trainer!
Conventions
I love to go to anime cons! In addition to getting out and cosplaying, I enjoy showing people how to edit video in my panels, doing photoshoots, and of course consuming Ramune and Pocky!
Here is a list of my con history - I am a relatively new congoer, but I really enjoy getting out there with fellow otaku!
